Little Sakalya Engineers

There is a reason why we celebrate National and International Days in our Preschool. We know that this is best time to introduce children to various occupations and the role they play in the society and also understand the power of co-existing. Each and every profession in this world has it’s part in building up a beautiful and sustainable society. On 15 Sep 2022, we celebrate Engineer’s Day. This day is chosen in the honour of Sir M Visvesvaraya who was the first Indian civil engineer and statesman.

At Sakalya Prep, teachers use ways and means to make it highly meaningful for our children. For K1 and K2, teacher talked about Sir M Visvesvaraya during the morning circle. On the Engineer’s Day, early childhood educators became engineers, created a circuit with a cell and briefly explained to the children how electricity works. To show children about various branches of Engineering, they were also given assorted blocks, bolts, rings tubes etc to use their imagination and create a structure independently. Apart from building castle, bridges and houses, our little engineers created binoculars too with tubes and pipes. How cool is that!

Happy Engineer’s Day!
